Task 1. Look at the letters the children from Viet Nam and Sweden sent to each other in a penfriend project. Why do you think they chose this way to communicate with each other?
=> I think they chose this way because the penfriend are at least 5 other benefits to letter writing:
+ Reading and writing skills improve as students practice their writing skills and organize their thoughts onto paper.
+ The pen pal develops compassion and understanding of other cultures and values.
+ The pen pal promotes many life skills, including development of social skills.
+ Letter writing promotes patience; delayed gratification!
+ Writing to a pen pal develops a child's curiosity.
Task 2. Read the text.

GIAO TIẾP TRONG TƯƠNG LAI: CÓ GÌ CHO CHÚNG TA?
Khoảng 50 học sinh từ 2 trường ở Hà Nội, Việt Nam và Umea, Thụy Điển đã trao đổi thư từ trong dự án bạn qua thư kể từ năm 2013. "Mình thích viết. Bạn thậm chí có thể dán thứ gì đó vào thư, như viên kẹo nhỏ này" Linh từ Hà Nội nói về dự án. Từ phía Thụy Điển, Anders nói, "Thật tuyệt khi mở và đọc những lá thư thật!" Nhưng đây có phải là hình thức giao tiếp trong tương lai của chúng ta không? Người ta nói rằng trong hai thập kỉ nữa chúng ta sẽ sử dụng thần giao cách cảm và phép ghi ảnh toàn kí.
Thần giao cách cảm sử dụng một thiết bị nhỏ đặt trong đầu bạn. Thông tin sẽ được gửi đến và được nhận trực tiếp đến và đi từ não bộ. Chúng ta sẽ giao tiếp chỉ bằng suy nghĩ qua mạng lưới! Phép ghi ảnh toàn kí, một công nghệ hội nghị video với hình ảnh 3D, sẽ giúp chúng ta tương tác theo thời gian thật ở những nơi hoàn toàn khác nhau.
Thật ấn tượng phải không? Có lẽ, nhưng không phải ai cũng nghĩ thế giới ảo sẽ thay thế thế giới thật. Giống như trẻ em trong dự án bạn qua thư, mình thích trò chuyện với bạn bè qua một tách trà và tận hưởng sự bầu bạn cùng họ - cuộc sống có ý nghĩa hơn theo cách đó!

=> They love to write and read real letters/ one student likes to send sweets with the letters as well.

=> They are telepathy and holography. One student uses a tiny device our head to communicate by thought over the network. Holograp gives three-dimensional images and we will be able to interact with each other in real time.
3. Do you think the writer is happy with this future of communication? How do you know? (Bạn có nghĩ người viết vui với cách giao tiếp tương lai này không Bạn nghĩ sao?)
=> She prefers to use real, face-to-face communication because she thinks this makes life more interesting.
Task 4. In small groups, decide whether you agree with the author of this text. Why/Why not? Share your ideas with the class.

I agree with the author of this text, because, when we use telepathy and holography, you can:
+ say something to someone who is no longer a part of your life.
+ apologize to someone who is no longer in your life for a misunderstanding or a hurt that you caused.
+ pave the way for better interaction with someone you don't get along with. Call a truce telepathically and see how the tension in the relationship eases.
+ let someone know how you feel about them if you've been unable to convey this information face to face.
+ forgive someone who has hurt you cutting the cords of anger or disappointment that bind you.
