Trong Unit này chúng ta sẽ học về cách diễn đạt To-inf trong câu gián tiếp. Dưới đây là một số cấu trúc với To-inf phổ biến:

tell/ask/require/inquire sb to V | yêu cầu ai đó làm gì | She said to me: “Bring me a bag.” → She told me to bring her a bag. |
advise sb to V | khuyên ai làm gì | “Why don't you try harder?” Lan said. → Lan advised me to try harder. |
promise to V | hứa làm gì | “I’ll send you a card on your birthday.” → He promised to send me a card on my birthday. |
threaten to V | đe dọa làm gì | “Leave my house now or I’ll call the police”, shouted the lady to the man. → The lady threatened to call the police if the man didn’t leave her house. |
warn sb to V | cảnh báo không nên làm gì | “Don’t repair the computer yourself,” she said to him. → She warned him not to repair the computer himself. |
invite sb to V | mời ai làm gì | “Would you like to come with me?” John said to Mary. → John invited Mary to come with him. |
remind sb to V | nhắc nhở ai làm gì | “Remember to write to me soon,” she said to me. → She reminded me to write her soon. |
refuse sb to V | từ chối ai đó làm gì | “I won’t go to bed,” Ron said. → Ron refused to go to bed. |

Task 1: Rewrite the sentences in reported speech, using the appropriate verbs from the box in the correct tense. (Viết lại câu ở dạng gián tiếp, bằng cách sử dụng động từ thích hợp từ hộp vào đúng thì.)
1. Our teacher told us to study hard for the final exams.
2. The job applicant asked if the company provided computers for all employees.
3. The career adviser advised us to develop our communication and planning skills.
4. My mother offered to find information about short courses on organisational skills for me.
Task 2: Complete the sentences, reporting what was said. (Hoàn thiện các câu, tường thuật những điều được nói đến.)
1.The monitor invited me to see him play in a football match.
2.The applicant asked the head of the human resources department to tell him what skills he needed in order to get that job.
3.My friend offered to find more information about the company that I was applying to.
4.His father encouraged him to apply for the job.
